Extreme Heat Warning issued June 30 at 2:40AM EDT until July 3 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Jackson KY * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions will continue for several consecutive days with afternoon heat index values exceeding 105 degrees and only limited relief at night. * WHERE...Portions of east central, south central, and southeast Kentucky. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An extended period of hot and humid conditions continue - with the most oppressive conditions expected on Thursday. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Special Weather Statement issued June 30 at 5:35AM EDT by NWS Jackson KY Mostly clear skies, light winds, and plenty of left over low- level moisture are helping areas of valley fog to develop and become dense early this morning. This fog will expand through dawn but likely remain the densest in the valleys. Visibilities will be below a quarter of a mile at times in the thickest of the fog. Be sure to slow down and use your low beam headlights when you encounter any fog. Look for visibilities to start improving after 8 AM.
