Vehicles were stranded and water rescues were ongoing. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Wilmington, Newark, Pennsville, Carneys Point, Elsmere, New Castle, Penns Grove, Newport, Arden, Stanton, Wilmington Manor and Greenville. This includes Interstate 95 in Delaware between mile markers 1 and 23. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms will continue into tonight with the most widespread activity occurring through this evening. Some heavy showers and thunderstorms will produce torrential rainfall, with 2 to 3 inches of rain per hour possible.
