Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 9 at 4:47PM EDT until May 10 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ * WHAT...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. For the Coastal Flood Warning, one to two feet of inundation above ground level expected in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...In Delaware, Inland Sussex and Delaware Beaches. In New Jersey, Cape May and Atlantic Coastal Cape May. * WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 8 PM this evening to 2 AM EDT Friday. For the Coastal Flood Warning, from 8 PM Friday to 4 AM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...At the moderate coastal flood level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal waterways. Many roads become impassable. Some damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Increasing onshore flow during the day on Friday combined with the higher astronomical tides will increase the potential for moderate coastal flooding with the Friday night high tide. The Friday night high tide is forecast to have the highest water levels and greatest impacts with this stretch of coastal flooding, and high tide water levels will lower over the weekend. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
