Rip Current Statement issued September 14 at 2:25PM EDT until September 18 at 5:00AM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida Beaches. * WHEN...From Tuesday morning through late Thursday night. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strong and rough surf will develop with breakers rising to 4 to 6 feet. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
