Flood Watch issued June 8 at 1:12PM CDT until June 9 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Lincoln IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, southeast, and west central Illinois, including the following counties, in central Illinois, Christian, Menard, Sangamon and Shelby. In east central Illinois, Clark, Coles, Cumberland and Moultrie. In southeast Illinois, Clay, Crawford, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence and Richland. In west central Illinois, Cass, Morgan, Schuyler and Scott. * WHEN...Through Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Some thunderstorms will produce rain rates of 2+ inches per hour. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flood Advisory issued June 8 at 2:28PM CDT until June 8 at 5:30PM CDT by NWS Lincoln IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of central and east central Illinois, including the following counties, in central Illinois, Shelby. In east central Illinois, Champaign, Coles, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie and Piatt. * WHEN...Until 530 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 227 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tuscola, Arcola, Villa Grove, Arthur, Bethany, Atwood, Lovington, Oakland, Newman, Pesotum, Hammond, Camargo, Humboldt, Broadlands, Rardin, Bourbon, Hindsboro, Murdock, Isabel and Garrett. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
