Flood Warning issued April 30 at 9:49PM EDT until May 3 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Indianapolis IN ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... Illinois... Wabash River at Riverton. Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site. Wabash River at Montezuma. Wabash River at Terre Haute. .Recent rainfall has led to flooding and potential flooding along a few points of the Wabash River. This threat will continue through the week into the weekend. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Terre Haute. * WHEN...Until early Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 16.5 feet, Flood waters begin to enter the two breaks in the Honey Creek Levee maintained by the Honey Creek Levee Association. These two breaks occurred during the April 2013 flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 PM EDT Tuesday /8:30 PM CDT Tuesday/ the stage was 16.4 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage late this evening to 16.8 feet early Thursday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Thursday afternoon to 9.9 feet Monday evening. It will rise to 10.2 feet Tuesday, May 07. It will then fall again and remain below flood stage. - Flood stage is 16.5 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
