Flood Warning issued June 21 at 3:16AM CDT until June 24 at 11:18AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS ...The National Weather Service in Wichita KS has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Kansas... Ninnescah South Fork near Murdock affecting Kingman County. Ninnescah River near Peck affecting Sumner and Sedgwick Counties. Ninnescah River near Belle Plaine affecting Sumner County. Arkansas River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Arkansas River at Arkansas City. * WHEN...From Monday afternoon to late Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Flooding of agricultural lands can be expected with bank overflows on west side of river. West Chestnut Avenue west of the river floods, expect road closure. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 6.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 12.0 feet Tuesday morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Tuesday evening. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away.
