Jefferson County in central Kentucky... * Until 700 PM EDT. * At 359 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported water rescue in Jefferson County. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Louisville, Jeffersontown, St. Matthews, Shively, Lyndon, Middletown, Douglass Hills and Prospect. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 310 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
