Flood Watch issued June 25 at 11:53AM CDT until June 26 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Kansas, including the following areas, Johnson KS, Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami and Wyandotte and Missouri, including the following areas, Bates, Cass, Clay, Cooper, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Johnson MO, Lafayette, Pettis, Platte and Saline. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A very moist airmass in place will bring the potential for high rainfall rates and flooding with any thunderstorms. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flood Advisory issued June 25 at 3:46PM CDT until June 25 at 5:15PM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Northeastern Johnson County in east central Kansas... Northeastern Wyandotte County in northeastern Kansas... Southwestern Clay County in west central Missouri... Northwestern Jackson County in west central Missouri... Southeastern Platte County in west central Missouri... * WHEN...Until 515 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 344 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. An additional quick quarter to half inch of rainfall is likely as more thunderstorms move through the area within the next half hour. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Kansas City, Independence, Liberty, Gladstone, Prairie Village, Mission, North Kansas City, Fairway, Mission Hills, Sugar Creek, Riverside, Westwood, Claycomo, Kansas City Kansas and Pleasant Valley. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
