S of Cape Hatteras NC to Ocracoke Inlet NC out to 20 NM... * Until 1100 PM EDT. * At 1001 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 10 nm west of The Center Of The Pamlico Sound, or 12 nm northwest of Ocracoke Inlet, moving east at 25 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. * Locations impacted include... Hatteras Village, Hatteras Inlet, Ar230, Ar220, Ocracoke, Ar225, and The Center Of The Pamlico Sound. Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes. Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.
