Special Weather Statement issued June 3 at 9:06AM CDT by NWS Tulsa OK At 905 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 2 miles south of Chautauqua to 3 miles northeast of Terlton to 2 miles northwest of Cushing. Movement was east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down small tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations in or near the path include... Tulsa... Bartlesville... Sand Springs... Pawhuska... Skiatook... Hominy... Dewey... Cleveland... Mannford... Drumright... Barnsdall... Sperry... Oilton... Copan... Ramona... Wynona... Ochelata... Jennings... Avant... Westport... This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 216 and 218. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
