Florence County in northeastern South Carolina... * Until 630 PM EDT. * At 527 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Timmonsville to 9 miles northeast of Alcolu, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect wind damage to trees and power lines. * Locations impacted include... Florence, Timmonsville, Pamplico, Quinby, Sardis, Hyman, Effingham, Mars Bluff, Cartersville, Francis Marion University, Claussen, Friendfield, New Hope, Evergreen, Scranton, Coward, Olanta, Central Crossroads, Carolinas Hospital System, and Mcleod Regional Medical Center. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. In South Carolina, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Marion, Marlboro, Northern Horry, and Williamsburg Counties. * WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Allow outside pets and livestock plenty of fresh drinking water and a well ventilated and shaded location.

This includes Interstate 95 in South Carolina between mile markers 147 and 160. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
