Central Wilbarger County in northern Texas... * Until 1215 AM CDT. * At 1124 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Mountain Park to 3 miles west of Manitou to 6 miles southwest of Frederick to near Oklaunion, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include... Northwestern Wichita Falls, Lawton, Vernon, Burkburnett, Frederick, Walters, Cache, Snyder, Geronimo, Grandfield, Tipton, Chattanooga, Randlett, Mountain Park, Medicine Park, Indiahoma, Davidson, Manitou, Devol, and Faxon. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing widespread wind damage from around Altus toward Frederick. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows! Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
