Brazos River near Rosharon affecting Brazoria and Fort Bend Counties. For the Navasota River...including Normangee...Major flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Brazos River near West Columbia. * WHEN...Until early Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding begins as water escapes the mainstem of the Brazos River approximately 6 miles downstream of the gauge. Lowest homes in Bar X are threatened. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 25.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday was 25.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Sunday afternoon and continue falling to 22.9 feet Sunday evening. - Flood stage is 23.0 feet. - Flood History...No available flood history. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
