Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 9 at 5:50AM EDT until May 10 at 12:00AM EDT by NWS Upton NY * WHAT...A half foot to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. * WHERE...In New Jersey, Hudson County. In New York, Richmond (Staten Island) and Kings (Brooklyn) Counties. * WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to midnight EDT tonight. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional minor coastal flooding is possible Friday night. If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.
