Yavapai County in west central Arizona... * Until 515 PM MST. * At 109 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Pocket Fire scar. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the Pocket Fire scar. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the Pocket Fire scar. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Sedona, Edge of the World, East Pocket Lookout Tower, Fernow Cabin, Slide Rock State Park, Red Rock-Secret Mountain Wilderness, West Fork of Oak Creek, Indian Gardens and Uptown Sedona. This includes the following highways... State Route 179 near mile marker 313. State Route 89A between mile markers 366 and 368...and between mile markers 374 and 385. This includes the following recreation areas and campgrounds... Manzanita Campground and Cave Springs Campground. This includes the following swimming holes... Slide Rock, Encinoso, Grasshopper Point and Midgely Bridge. This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers... Dry Creek, Spring Creek, West Fork Oak Creek and Oak Creek. Flash flooding is occurring or imminent within and downstream of the Pocket Fire scar. Severe debris flow are expected within Dry Creek, Secret Canyon, Long Canyon, Bear Sign Canyon, and the West Fork of Oak Creek. Oak Creek may also see elevated flow from the West Fork confluence to Sedona. Campers and hikers should get away from creeks and move to higher ground immediately! Stay away or be swept away!

In north central Arizona, Black Mesa Area, Coconino Plateau, Eastern Mogollon Rim, Grand Canyon Country, Kaibab Plateau, Little Colorado River Valley in Coconino County, Marble and Glen Canyons, Northeast Plateaus and Mesas Hwy 264 Northward, Northeast Plateaus and Mesas South of Hwy 264 and Western Mogollon Rim. In northeast Arizona, Chinle Valley, Chuska Mountains and Defiance Plateau, Little Colorado River Valley in Apache County, Little Colorado River Valley in Navajo County and White Mountains. In west central Arizona, Oak Creek and Sycamore Canyons, Yavapai County Mountains and Yavapai County Valleys and Basins. * WHEN...Through late Wednesday night. * IMPACTS...Flash flooding will be possible in creeks, normally dry washes, swimming holes, and over recently burned areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Increasing moisture will combine with a shortwave feature moving north across Arizona to bring multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms from late Tuesday night through Wednesday night.
