In southeast New Mexico, Chaves County Plains and Southwest Chaves County. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rounds of showers and storms will continue through tonight. Rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will have the potential to produce rapid runoff, especially during the afternoon and evening hours on Thursday. Soils are becoming increasingly saturated from persistent rainfall over the past couple of days, further elevating the risk of flash flooding.
