Flood Watch issued May 20 at 11:10AM MDT until May 21 at 6:00AM MDT by NWS Goodland KS * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southwest Nebraska, including the following counties, Dundy, Hitchcock and Red Willow. * WHEN...From 6 PM MDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Up to 3 inches of rain fell across Hitchcock and Red Willow counties between late Saturday night and Sunday morning. Soils are saturated and susceptible to flooding. Additional rainfall amounts Tonight of 1 to 3 inches are possible as a cluster of thunderstorms moves through the area. Dundy county will see the initial surge of moisture from these storms, making areas along/near Highway 34 very prone to flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
