Special Weather Statement issued May 31 at 2:18PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK Snow is expected to develop over the Central Brooks Range Saturday night and continue into Monday, with the heaviest snow falling Sunday into Monday. Lower elevations such as Anaktuvuk Pass and Galbraith Lake can expect between 2 and 4 inches of of snow from Sunday into Monday, while elevations above 4000 feet such as Atigun Pass can expect up to 6 inches of snow Sunday into Monday. A thermal trough colliding with an Arctic Cold front over the Central Brooks Range Saturday night through Monday is expected to cause this snow.
