rainfall warning in effect Heavy rain and strong winds beginning late today. Hazards: Total rainfall amounts near 50 mm. Wind gusts of 70 km/h. Timing: Beginning late this afternoon or this evening and continuing through Wednesday evening. Discussion: Heavy rain is expected to begin late today as a strong low pressure system moves into the area. The heavy rain will taper to light rain Wednesday afternoon before ending Wednesday evening. In addition, strong easterly winds gusting up to 70 km/h will develop late today and then become southerly overnight. Winds will diminish Wednesday evening. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Utility outages may occur.
