Damaging Winds A heightened risk of new fires igniting and intensification of existing fires is predicted. Localized damage to settlements and temporary structures is possible. Road users may experience issues with high-sided vehicles on main roads, and certain transport routes may be disrupted due to wind and sandstorms, leading to extended travel times. Additionally, flying debris poses a risk of injury and potential threat to life. When traveling by road, reduce your speed and keep a safe following distance. Report any fire or smoke to the fire department immediately and do not start an open fire. Stay indoors and when needed to be outdoors be vigilant for flying debris.

Disruptive Rain Flooding of roads, low-lying bridges, formal/informal settlements, damage to property and infrastructure is possible. Some communities may be temporarily cut-off. Danger to life could result from crossing fast flowing streams/rivers. Disruption to essential services such as electricity and water can occur. Disruption of traffic flow due to flooding of major roads. Mudslides and rockfalls may also occur in susceptible areas. Be cautious on roads, avoid crossing rivers and swollen streams where water is above your ankles. If trapped in a vehicle during a flood, abandon it and climb to higher ground. In buildings, move valuables to a safe place above the expected flood level. Switch off electricity at the supply point to the building. Be especially cautious at night when it's harder to recognize flood dangers. Listen to the radio or TV for warnings and obey the instructions from disaster management officers.

Weather Advisory The combination of very cold, wet (rain and snow), and windy conditions may result in the loss of vulnerable livestock and crops. Due to the wind chill factor, temperatures may feel colder than the measured values. Possible flooding of roads and susceptible settlements is possible due to heavy rains. High waves may result in difficulty in navigation at sea and pose danger to beach goers. The public and small stock farmers are advised to take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety and health of themselves and their animals during very cold, wet and windy days.The beach goers and vessels operators are also advised to take caution.
