special weather statement in effect The first one day heat event is expected to begin Wednesday afternoon and end Thursday. High temperatures on Wednesday will reach 31 to 32 degrees Celsius and overnight lows will reach near 20 degrees Celsius early Thursday morning. These conditions pose a health risk when you are not used to the heat. Everyone is at risk from heat, especially older adults; infants and young children; and people with chronic illnesses. You are advised to 1) drink plenty of cool liquids before feeling thirsty; and 2) keep cool by dressing for the weather and spending more time in a cool place. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Warnings

special weather statement in effect The warm airmass covering Southern Quebec for the last few days will persist until Thursday morning. Temperatures will range from 30 to 32 degrees Celsius with Humidex values reaching between 35 and 38 on Wednesday. The heat will also persist overnight Wednesday night, and temperatures hovering near 20 degrees Celsius will offer little relief. Everyone can be at risk from heat. Regularly drink plenty of water, even before feeling thirsty, to reduce your risk of dehydration. Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration. Reduce your heat risk. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day. If you are in a overheated location, look for a cool place, such as the shade of trees, a water fountain with splash pad, a cooling station, or an air-conditioned facility like a public building. Never leave people, especially children, or pets in a parked vehicle. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
