Flood Watch issued May 17 at 2:26PM HST until May 19 at 6:00AM HST by NWS Honolulu HI ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH 6 AM HST SUNDAY FOR KAUAI COUNTY... ...FLOOD WATCH FOR THE ISLAND OF OAHU IS CANCELLED... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Niihau and Kauai. * WHEN...Through 6 AM HST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff. Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A band of moderate to heavy showers associated with a kona low north of the islands will slowly move over Kauai County beginning this evening. As this band slowly moves westward through late Saturday night, the threat for flash flooding for the islands of Niihau and Kauai will persist. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

This swell will linger through the day Saturday, with the winds shifting back out of the east to southeast direction. * WHAT...Surf of 7 to 10 feet. * WHERE...South-facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't go out.
