Flood Advisory issued June 1 at 9:10AM CDT until June 1 at 12:15PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, including the following counties, Alexander and Pulaski, western Kentucky, including the following counties, Ballard, Carlisle, Fulton and Hickman, and southeast Missouri, including the following counties, Mississippi, New Madrid and Scott. * WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 910 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sikeston, Charleston, East Prairie, New Madrid, Cairo, Hickman, Lilbourn, La Center, Miner, Bardwell, Wickliffe, Towosahgy State Historic Site, Big Oak Tree State Park, Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site, Bertrand, Mounds, Barlow, Tamms, Matthews and Mound City. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
