Flash Flood Warning issued May 26 at 2:13PM CDT until May 26 at 3:30PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY At 213 PM CDT, emergency management reported flooding resulted in the closure of N 16th Street in Murray. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area this evening. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Murray, Hazel, New Concord, Kirksey and Harris Grove. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Flood Watch issued May 26 at 3:17AM CDT until May 27 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...All of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, west Kentucky, and southeast Missouri. * WHEN...Through early Monday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall are expected to traverse the region through tonight. Flooding will be more likely and potentially more intense in areas that receive multiple rounds of heavy rainfall, and especially in areas that have received heavy rainfall in the last few days. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Flood Advisory issued May 26 at 11:15AM CDT until May 26 at 4:00PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, including the following counties, Massac and Pope and western Kentucky, including the following counties, Calloway, Crittenden, Graves, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken and Trigg. * WHEN...Until 400 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1115 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Paducah, Murray, Mayfield, Metropolis, Benton, Calvert City, Reidland, Hillman Ferry Campground, Birmingham Ferry Recreation Area, Demumbers Bay Campground, Lone Oak, Land Between The Lakes Area, Turkey Bay, Golden Pond Visitors Center, Brookport, Salem, Ledbetter, Sedalia, Lynnville and West Paducah. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
