Special Weather Statement issued June 6 at 6:28PM EDT by NWS Albany NY At 626 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorms near Amsterdam, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts 40 to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Saratoga Springs, Amsterdam, Glenville, Duanesburg, Broadalbin, Hagaman, Edinburg, Fort Johnson, Delanson, Galway, Rotterdam Junction, Rock City Falls, Pattersonville-Rotterdam Junction, Kings, Mount Pleasant, Greenfield, Charlton, Perth, Charleston, and Duane. This includes Interstate 90 near exit 27. Localized rainfall rates my approach a half an inch to an inch an hour which may cause ponding of water on roadways and poor drainage flooding of low lying areas. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized poor drainage and street flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
