Special Weather Statement issued May 15 at 9:08PM CDT by NWS Norman OK At 908 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles southwest of Aetna to 5 miles south of Capron. Movement was northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Alva and Capron. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Special Weather Statement issued May 15 at 8:44PM CDT by NWS Norman OK At 844 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 13 miles southeast of Buttermilk to 5 miles northwest of Avard to 4 miles east of Waynoka. Movement was northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Alva, Waynoka, Freedom, Dacoma, Alabaster Caverns State Park, Avard, Capron, Hopeton, and Camp Houston. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor NOAA Weather Radio, local radio stations or available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
