Heat Advisory issued May 23 at 2:29PM CDT until May 24 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Brownsville TX * WHAT...Heat index values up to 115. * WHERE...Coastal Cameron, Coastal Kenedy, Coastal Willacy, Inland Cameron, and Inland Willacy Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives, neighbors, workers, and the elderly. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit exercise and strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Death is possible to unprepared people and pets.
