Flood Warning issued June 4 at 3:55PM CDT by NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan WI ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Wisconsin...Illinois... Rock River At Afton affecting Winnebago and Rock Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Rock River at Afton. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 10.1 feet, Floodwaters affect the property of a home on South Christian Road on the east side of the river in the Afton area. Minor erosional flood damage occurs to lowland and agricultural land adjacent to the river the Afton and Janesville areas. This level is the 20 percent chance flood meaning that there is a 20 percent chance in any given year of the river reaching this level. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 8.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight and continue rising to 9.8 feet Sunday evening. Additional rises are possible thereafter. - Flood stage is 9.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.8 feet on 04/11/1982. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Special Weather Statement issued June 4 at 8:36PM CDT by NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan WI At 836 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Milton to near Darien to near Sharon. Movement was north at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Janesville, Beloit, Whitewater, Fort Atkinson, Delavan, Jefferson, Milton, Clinton, Sharon, Darien, Cambridge, Lake Ripley, Lake Koshkonong, Richmond, Hebron, Tiffany, Rockdale, Busseyville, Avalon, and Foxhollow. This includes the following highways... Interstate 39/90 between mile markers 161 and 187. Wisconsin Highway 26 between mile markers 6 and 27. Interstate 43 between mile markers 0 and 20. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
