Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued April 26 at 8:12AM CDT until April 26 at 8:45AM CDT by NWS Tulsa OK At 811 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 4 miles east of Siloam Springs to 6 miles east of Adair State Park to near Brushy to 5 miles southwest of Tamaha, moving east at 35 mph. The most intense portion of the line extended from near Cincinnati Arkansas to near Brushy Oklahoma. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations in or near the path include... Fort Smith... Fayetteville... Springdale... Rogers... Van Buren... Tahlequah... Siloam Springs... Sallisaw... Stilwell... Stigler... Cedarville... Natural Dam... Lowell... Farmington... Prairie Grove... Muldrow... Roland... Tontitown... Lincoln... Cave Springs... This includes the following highways, Interstate 40 in Arkansas between mile markers 0 and 2. Interstate 40 in Oklahoma between mile markers 273 and 328. Interstate 49 near mile marker 58, and between mile markers 60 and 82. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 AM CDT for southeastern, northeastern and east central Oklahoma. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespread significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. These storms may cause serious injury and significant property damage.
