Rip Current Statement issued September 24 at 11:29AM EDT until September 25 at 2:00PM EDT by NWS Tallahassee FL * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents expected. * WHERE...Franklin County Beaches. * WHEN...From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through Friday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Breezy northeast winds following a cold front will produce a longshore current along St George Island and 2-ft surf. More breeziness anticipated tonight into midday tomorrow. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
