Flood Warning issued June 11 at 2:18PM CDT until June 12 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansas... Neosho River at Oswego affecting Cherokee and Labette Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River at Oswego. * WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, The left bank begins to overflow and floods agricultural fields. Also, the dirt county road, 13000 Road, along the north side of the river bank starts to flood at 1.5 miles downstream of gage site where the bridge crosses Lightning Creek. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.0 feet this evening. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued late tonight at 230 AM CDT.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 11 at 2:52PM CDT until June 11 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 314 IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 6 COUNTIES IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS ALLEN CHAUTAUQUA LABETTE MONTGOMERY NEOSHO WILSON THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF CEDAR VALE, CHANUTE, COFFEYVILLE, FREDONIA, HUMBOLDT, INDEPENDENCE, IOLA, NEODESHA, PARSONS, AND SEDAN.
