Flood Watch issued June 25 at 2:46PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following areas, Bourbon, Cherokee and Crawford and Missouri, including the following areas, Barry, Barton, Benton, Camden, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Dent, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, Maries, McDonald, Miller, Morgan, Newton, Oregon, Ozark, Phelps, Polk, Pulaski, Shannon, St. Clair, Stone, Taney, Texas, Vernon, Webster and Wright. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will move through the area and bring 2 to 4 inches of rain with localized amounts up to 7 inches. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Special Weather Statement issued June 25 at 2:56PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO At 256 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Springfield to near Sparta to near Taneyville. Movement was east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Lake Taneycomo, Battlefield, Rogersville, Ava, Strafford, Forsyth, Seymour, Sparta, Highlandville, Fremont Hills, Fordland, Taneyville, Diggins, Oldfield, Turners, Elkhead, and Rome. This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 87 and 96. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
