Flood Watch issued July 23 at 4:46PM EDT until July 24 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following areas, Coastal Onslow, Duplin, East Carteret, Hatteras Island, Inland Onslow, Jones, Lenoir, Northern Craven, Ocracoke Island, Pamlico, Southern Craven and West Carteret. * WHEN...Through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A stalled front over eastern North Carolina will linger through at least Friday evening. Rounds of heavy rainfall with some embedded thunderstorms could bring additional rain totals of 2 to 4 inches.
