Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 22 at 3:50AM CDT until June 22 at 11:00AM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 373 IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM CDT THIS MORNING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN TEXAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 12 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS COLLIN COOKE DELTA DENTON FANNIN GRAYSON HOPKINS HUNT LAMAR MONTAGUE RAINS WISE THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALLEN, BONHAM, BOWIE, BRIDGEPORT, CARROLLTON, COMMERCE, COOPER, DECATUR, DENISON, DENTON, EAST TAWAKONI, EMORY, FLOWER MOUND, FRISCO, GAINESVILLE, GREENVILLE, LEWISVILLE, MCKINNEY, NOCONA, PARIS, PLANO, POINT, SHERMAN, AND SULPHUR SPRINGS.

Flood Advisory issued June 22 at 5:15AM CDT until June 22 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Cooke County in north central Texas... Grayson County in north central Texas... Montague County in north central Texas... * WHEN...Until 700 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 514 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated very heavy rain due to thunderstorms moving across the area. Radar estimates rainfall rates as high as 4 inches per hour are occurring with these storms. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen in the past hour. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Sherman, Gainesville, Bowie, Whitesboro, Nocona, Denison, Pilot Point, Van Alstyne, Howe, Pottsboro, Collinsville, Whitewright, Muenster, Gunter, Bells, Tom Bean, St. Jo and Lindsay. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Special Weather Statement issued June 22 at 4:57AM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX At 456 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Denison to Bowie. Movement was south at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... McKinney, Frisco, Denton, Sherman, Corinth, Gainesville, Sanger, Decatur, Bridgeport, Bowie, Whitesboro, Nocona, Denison, Prosper, Anna, Celina, Melissa, Krum, Pilot Point, and Van Alstyne. This includes the following highways... Interstate 35 between mile markers 468 and 503. Interstate 35W between mile markers 79 and 85. Interstate 35E between mile markers 460 and 466. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 AM CDT for north central Texas.
