Southern Guthrie County in west central Iowa... * Until 900 AM CDT. * At 301 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicate additional thunderstorms will produce heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges indicate 1 to 3 inches have fallen, with more thunderstorms moving into the area. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... While rainfall amounts in some areas will be modest, there will be pockets of heavier rainfall that may lead to flash flooding, especially if multiple rounds fall in the same area. In addition, several more rounds of heavy rainfall are expected later this week, from Wednesday onward, and this watch might need to be extended or succeeded by more watches later.
