Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 10 at 8:33PM CDT until June 10 at 8:45PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL At 832 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Disco to Stillwell, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Fort Madison, Keokuk, Carthage, Kahoka, Nauvoo, Hamilton, Warsaw, La Harpe, Montrose, Augusta, Wayland, Bowen, Wyaconda, West Point, Alexandria, Ferris, Luray, Colusa, Disco, and St. Francisville. This also includes Nauvoo State Park. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for west central Illinois...southeastern Iowa...and northeastern Missouri. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Flood Watch issued June 10 at 3:12PM CDT until June 11 at 11:00AM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Bureau, Hancock, Henderson, Henry IL, McDonough, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island, Warren and Whiteside, Iowa, including the following areas, Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry IA, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington, and northeast Missouri, including the following areas, Clark and Scotland. * WHEN...Through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Several rounds of heavy rain producing thunderstorms are expected through Thursday morning across the watch area. The storms may be slow moving or redeveloping over the same areas resulting in torrential rainfall and possibly several inches of rain by Thursday morning. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
