Flood Advisory issued June 10 at 11:51PM CDT until June 11 at 3:00AM CDT by NWS Chicago IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of east central Illinois, including the following counties, Ford and Iroquois. * WHEN...Until 300 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Roads and streets may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1149 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen in portions of southern Ford County within the past hour or so. Similar rates can be expected for the remainder of the advisory area as the heavy rain moves in. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over much of the advisory area. Runoff from the rain that has fallen and additional rain will result in flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Watseka, Paxton, Gibson City, Gilman, Milford, Onarga, Sheldon, Cissna Park, Piper City, Buckley, Stockland, Crescent City, Danforth, Melvin, Loda, Roberts, Woodland, Donovan, Elliott and Sibley. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood A Flood Advisory means flooding along waterways and other poor drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
