Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 21 at 6:16PM CDT until June 21 at 6:30PM CDT by NWS Goodland KS At 616 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 8 miles southeast of Colby to near Oakley to 9 miles northeast of Wallace, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. These severe storms will be near... Oakley and Monument around 620 PM CDT. Russell Springs around 630 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Mingo and Halford. This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 45 and 80. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Flood Warning issued June 21 at 1:51PM CDT until June 22 at 7:30AM CDT by NWS Goodland KS Rainfall accumulations Saturday night totaled up to and estimated 7.5 inches in the warned area. * WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Kansas, including the following counties, in northwest Kansas, Sheridan and Thomas. In west central Kansas, Gove. * WHEN...Until 730 AM CDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 149 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area. The Solomon and Saline rivers are out of their banks. Flooding is already occurring. Between 3.5 and 6.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional storms are expected to move through the area this afternoon and evening. Additional rainfall totals look to remain under 1.5 inch es in the Warned area - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Colby, Oakley, Hoxie, Quinter, Grainfield, Grinnell, Levant, Rexford, Selden, Park, Gem, Menlo, Seguin, Angelus, Halford, Mingo, Tasco and Studley. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
