This includes Farmington, Shiprock, Bloomfield, Aztec, Dulce, Chama, Cuba, Los Alamos, Taos, Espanola, Angel Fire, Red River, Eagle Nest, Santa Fe, Glorieta, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Sandia Crest, Sedillo, Belen, Los Lunas, and Socorro. * WHEN...Until 3 AM MDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rounds of showers and storms will continue through the evening with another rounds of showers through the overnight hours. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour may occur with storms this evening, with lighter rainfall overnight. Northeastern Santa Fe County in north central New Mexico... * WHEN...Until 215 AM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1213 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the Frijoles burn scar. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Northeastern Santa Fe, Espanola, Chimayo, Pojoaque, Nambe Pueblo, Cundiyo, Nambe Lake, Rio En Medio in Santa Fe County, Rio Chiquito and Pojoaque Pueblo. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Runoff from rainfall will cause elevated water levels within vulnerable drainages in and downstream of the Frijoles burn scar.
