Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 20 at 5:36PM MDT until June 20 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Riverton WY SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 356 REMAINS VALID UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN WYOMING THIS WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL WYOMING FREMONT NATRONA IN NORTH CENTRAL WYOMING JOHNSON IN SOUTH CENTRAL WYOMING SWEETWATER THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BUFFALO, CASPER, DUBOIS, GREEN RIVER, KAYCEE, LANDER, RIVERTON, AND ROCK SPRINGS.

Special Weather Statement issued June 20 at 8:21PM MDT by NWS Riverton WY At 821 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles west of Sweetwater Station to 14 miles southeast of Bitter Creek Rest Area. Movement was east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Sweetwater Station around 830 PM MDT. Other locations in the path of these storms include Wamsutter, Jeffrey City, Crooks Gap and Creston Junction. This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 151 and 198. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM MDT for central and south central Wyoming.
