heat warning in effect Temperatures reaching 32 degrees Celsius combined with overnight lows near 16 degrees Celsius are expected for the next 2 days. A surface ridge of high pressure will continue to bring extreme heat tonight, Friday and during the day on Saturday over areas of southwestern Saskatchewan. Normal temperatures for this time of year are highs near 27 and lows near 11. Temperatures will begin to moderate below heat criteria by Saturday night as the surface ridge tracks off to the southeast. However, daytime high temperatures will likely remain above normal for the forseeable future. ### Extreme heat affects everyone. The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion. Please call HealthLine 811 for advice on health risks, symptoms and precautions associated with heat. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports using #SKStorm. Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
