Special Weather Statement issued September 12 at 6:25PM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA At 625 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Rosston, or 17 miles southeast of Prescott, moving southeast at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Rosston, Willisville, Bodcaw, Cale, Waterloo, Mount Moriah, Young, Laneburg and Falcon. Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
