Northern Coleman County in west central Texas... * WHEN...Until 500 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 205 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain of 1 to 2 inches due to thunderstorms in the advisory area, with additional rainfall of up to an inch possible. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cross Plains, Novice, Silver Valley, Burkett, Rowden, Glen Cove, Talpa, Us-283 Near The Coleman-Callahan County Line, Lake Coleman and Echo. - This includes the following Low Water Crossings... County Road 172 crossing Little Pecan Bayou and County Road 485 crossing Indian Creek. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 256 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Clyde, Baird, Cross Plains, Putnam, Rowden, Atwell, Admiral and Us-283 Near The Coleman-Callahan County Line. - This includes Interstate 20 between Mile Markers 299 and 322. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
