This approaches the flood of record. * WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S. * WHEN...Until early Sunday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 12.5 feet, Water affects old U.S. Highway 61 near the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 12.5 feet and steady. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 12.6 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday morning. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
