Some metro areas and locales include Raton, Las Vegas, Moriarty, Clayton, Santa Rosa, Tucumcari, Fort Sumner, Clovis, Portales, and Roswell. * WHEN...From 6 PM MDT this evening through late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A near-record to record surge of moisture combined with two merging storm systems will bring a prolonged multi-day period of showers and thunderstorms producing moderate to heavy rainfall. Combined with already rain-soaked soil, there is a moderate to high risk of flash flooding. - Low-lying, poorly drained areas, urban areas and arroyo systems, and burn scars will be most susceptible.
