Flood Watch issued September 27 at 7:48AM MDT until September 29 at 6:00AM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible across much of central and southern Utah between Monday morning and early Tuesday morning. * WHERE...A portion of Utah, including the following areas, Castle Country, Central Mountains, San Rafael Swell, Bryce Canyon Country, Capitol Reef National Park and Vicinity, Glen Canyon Recreation Area/Lake Powell, South Central Utah, Southern Mountains, Upper Sevier River Valleys, Western Canyonlands, Lower Washington County and Zion National Park. * WHEN...From Monday morning through early Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, dry washes, slot canyons, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations such as slickrock areas and recent burn scars including Cottonwood, Widemouth 2, France Canyon, Monroe Canyon, Forsyth, and Silver King. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Deep moisture originating from tropical systems in the Eastern Pacific draws into portions of central and southern Utah on Monday. Concurrently, an upper-level system traversing the Desert Southwest will result in ample instability that will produce widespread heavy rainfall across the area.
