The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM PDT this evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 640 Central Mountains of Oregon. * WINDS...Northwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent. * IMPACTS...Windy conditions combined with low RHs will result in rapid fire spread and extreme fire behavior. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
