red warning - tornado - in effect At 9:06 p.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. Multiple tornadoes are possible along an intense squall line from Lake Winnipegosis to Cowan. Additional Hazards: Wind: damaging (110 - 129 km/h) Hail: baseball size or greater (≥ 7 cm) Rain: very heavy (50 - 100 mm) Motion: Moving northeast at 30 km/h. ### This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornadoes can be wrapped in rain and may not be visible. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado. Take cover immediately in a basement, interior room, or a sturdy shelter when threatening weather approaches. If no shelter is available, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. If you are out on the water when threatening weather approaches, return to shore and seek shelter, if possible. Otherwise, move away from the path of the tornado to escape. Wear your lifejacket, lie face down and protect your head.

Thunderstorm Location: About 20 km west of Springwater Provincial Park Motion: Moving northeast at 45 km/h Hazards: Wind: damaging (110 - 129 km/h) Hail: baseball size or greater (≥ 7 cm) Rain: very heavy (50 - 100 mm) Locations in the Path: Springwater Provincial Park Cowan ### Large hail will cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain. Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.
