In southern Florida, Glades and Hendry. In southwest Florida, Coastal Collier County, Inland Collier County and Mainland Monroe. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall amounts of 8 to 14 inches with isolated amounts up to 20 inches have fallen over portions of South Florida since Tuesday morning. Additional amounts of 2 to 4 inches of rainfall are forecast through Friday with locally higher amounts possible. Overflowing poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1250 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Miami, Hialeah, Coral Gables, South Miami, Kendall, Black Point, The Redland, Doral, Pinecrest, Miami Springs, Sweetwater, West Miami, Glenvar Heights, Sunset, University Of Miami, Olympia Heights, Palmetto Bay, Richmond Heights, Coral Terrace and Westchester. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Marine Weather Statement issued June 14 at 1:55PM EDT by NWS Miami FL The areas affected include... Biscayne Bay... Coastal waters from Deerfield Beach to Ocean Reef FL out 20 NM... Coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach FL out 20 NM... Waters from Deerfield Beach to Ocean Reef FL from 20 to 60 NM excluding the territorial waters of Bahamas... Waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach FL from 20 to 60 NM... At 155 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Jupiter Inlet to Lighthouse Point to Hallandale to Triumph Reef, moving northeast at 15 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on the alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development.
